Do You Draw Strength From Your Partnerships?

Everyone loved the blog last month on partnership, so I decided to do it again this month :)

I really think they just loved seeing that photo of my super gorgeous mom (I received so many emails saying I don't believe you that is not your mother - I had to share all of those with her last month and it made her smile).

The challenge question this week is do you draw strength from your partnerships? Are the people connected to you adding value to your life, your family, your business? And do you add value to theirs?

Partnership is defined as a relationship between two or more individuals. I like to take it a step further by stating that a partnership is a relationship between two or more individuals who either help you reach your goals or pull you away from them.

Selah - pause and think on that!

Every relationship (partnership) either makes us better, keeps us stagnant, or makes us worse.

Every relationship (partnership) either challenges us or frustrates us.

Every relationship (partnership) is either adding value or it's not.

Your challenge (should you choose to accept) is to take a stock of all the relationships (partnerships) that currently exist in your life and ask the tough question, "do we add value to each other?" That should always be the goal and if we are not doing that, then we must ask the question, "why are we connected?"

Do This Before The New Year!

Last month, I shared with you about my partnership with my mom. This month I wanted to share more fun facts about our partnership. Many people are still learning that mom and I partnered nearly 7 years ago to create a charity here in the Chicagoland area that teaches life skill and leadership development to teen girls. It's one of the most fulfilling partnerships we've ever created.

The picture up top are some of the young ladies who have gone through our programs. Seed of Hope Foundation was a vision that my mother had and then pulled me in (literally kicking and screaming :) to help bring to life. It is one of the most rewarding parts of my life. I get to work with disadvantaged and emotionally damaged teen girls and give them hope through sharing my life's experiences, helping them increase their emotional intelligence, and start the path to being great leaders for the next generation.

None of what we do with Seed of Hope Foundation would be possible without great community partners. There is so much power in partnership, I challenge you to make this an intentional part of your everyday strategies and if you feel led to donate to Seed of Hope Foundation in honor of these young women and to celebrate #GivingTuesday.
